The Dukes Monument

Erected by the people of Hamilton in memory of William 11th Duke of Hamilton in 1863, the year he died.

The memorial sits high above the river Avon at Barncluith.

I have often searched without success for the monument on the opposite river bank.

Today I find it when I wasn't looking!
