Buttercross to Bethlehem

A street nativity performance for all the family with live animals, carol singing and a brilliant band organised by the combined Churches in our town this evening and what a wonderful performance it was -  The nativity was played out beautifully with real live angels children, a real live baby Jesus, sheep, a Donkey (which didn't actually materialise as he wouldn't leave the stable!) and  three Wise men who appeared on horseback.   Not a great picture of the wisemen I'm afraid but the horses were very impressive, the first one being well over 17 hands and all of them so well schooled as they walked between the crowds in the semi-darkness without any problem.

We played and sang, saw the real live baby in a manger and  grateful that the weather was kind and everything went to plan, apart from the shy Donkey!
