Arrived in Furnas to a grand Art Deco hotel in the middle of a botanical garden with thermal pools. The plants and trees here are a strange mix between European and exotic
- the islands grow their own pineapples and potatoes, and the tree ferns grow happily alongside roses and rhododendrons.

A long day of eating local delicacies, lounging in bright yellow thermal pools, and playing UNO. A good holiday so far.
