Sunset on the Shortest Day

To me, tonight is the Actual New Year, and tomorrow begins the slow but inevitable and joyous lengthening of the days towards the glory of Spring and Summer!
My best friend is en route to the Caslerigg Stone Circle near Keswick in the Lake District to watch the sunrise of the new Year over the mountains and the Stones, many others will be there too,  around small bonfires through the night, there will be musicians and beer,and as usual some self styled "Druids" too!
