24 Doors of Advent (22)

'Dovecot Studios'

These studio's were once The Infirmary Street Baths which were the first public baths in Edinburgh built in 1885. The Baths were closed in 1995 and lay derelict for over ten years before The Dovecot Studio project got underway. This is a great example of what can be achieved and the Dovecot Tapestry Studio was reformed by Alastair & Elizabeth Salvesen in 2000.
The cost to complete the refurbishment was £12 million pound.
The centre now exhibits all types of weaving as well as arts and crafts from many artist's both local and national.
Extra blips include the main weaving hall (old pool) & one of halls.
