And yet more waterfalls!

Our week in the cottage, day 5

It was almost noon when I was finally awake and ready for the day. I guess that's what reading until the early hours does to you ;)
Today's sightseeing was a relatively short trip to see Þykkvibær, a little village best known for it's cultivating and processing of potatoes.

This waterfall caught our attention on the way to Þykkvibær. It's called Ægissíðufoss in Rangá and it's a bit surpricing to find such a big waterfall in the flat landscape of this area.

When we were driving back we drove into a thunderstorm which had been imminent since earlier in the day. Thunder and lightning and heavy rain. It was really spectacular and it's not often we see weather like this in Iceland!

In the evening one of my mother's cousins, Kiddý, came to visit and it was a really nice evening with chat about family and relatives - and pancakes too ;)
