Clay pipes

Our Son in Law and daughter bought me a magic set of clay pipes as part f my presents. 

This design once again takes inspiration from original Dutch pipes dating from the early 18th Century and brings them to life in a new way. Original Dutch pipes are amazing to look at in that they sometimes contain all sorts of themes such as men and women or scenes of life at that time. The detailing is always well executed on such pipes. I bring you my own design here which portrays a swimming mermaid on one side and a pirate seated on a barrel with a bottle, glass of grog and a pipe. His ship is in the distance.
