Birthday Perfection

Have just had the most wonderful birthday, a day before my birthday. 

Got sent over to the Kings Arms for a G&T with my man (went to pay, but had been already paid for by youngest) - sat for an hour or more by the open fire with their magazines, which I always look at longingly, but always have to socialise instead.

And then called home to a meal of some of my favourite things, with all my favourite people, prepared by my son-in-law: real champagne, salmon with homemade aïoli, asparagus and sprouting broccoli, and potatoes, and desserts, and an excellent wine from Lisbon.

Perfection.
