Lit up

My garden is pretty ordinary on the whole.  Lots of weeds and bad mistakes.

But there is the odd corner that becomes quite extraordinary when the light is right, or when you stand in the right place, or when the colours come together in a very unexpected way. 

This is a bright red (I'm good at stating the obvious) salvia, but the calyx matches the colour of the smoke bush I just planted alongside it.  I didn't actually plan that. 

So there you go.  Magic happens, usually when you least expect it.

Edit: 10 am on 28th. We lost power at half past 2 this morning, and it won't be restored for some hours yet. We had the grandmother and grandfather of storms over night.
