Connor - the Grudge Match

Connor was a very naughty boy.  Across at Quoydale, in Hoy, the anemometer showed that wind speeds were between 80 - 90 mph for 5 hours continuously.  Here things weren’t quite so bad.  Certainly above 70 for a long time.  It took the hinges of the poly tunnel doors clean off, drove one door inside the tunnel and out through the side.  We have spent all day patching.  For some reason the air control on the vent on the Aga has cross-threaded itself, my watch has broken and the car has a flat tyre.

We still feel we have got off very lightly as the centre of the storm again went to Shetland.  It’s a bit un-nerving looking at Scapa Flow under storm conditions, it gets so windy that it nearly flattens the sea - it has to be seen to be believed.

Connor also removed the four green houses I had on Old Kent Road, but we shouldn’t have had two doors of the house open at the same time.  Our mothers have retreated to their own quarters to work on their scripts for the New Year.
