Kilimanjaro - Day One - Rain Forest

So this is it, the journey to the summit of Kilimanjaro begins here at Umbwe Gate.  Not entirely sure a 1,000 metres of ascent each day is a NICE climb though.  LOL!

It was actually quite a gentle day today, with only the last hour resulting in some steep ground to get to the cave camp.  We walked through mainly the rain forest today, and saw a few monkeys.
