Prince Alberts hair.

After her beloved Albert's death Queen Victoria was virtually paralysed with grief.
The room in which he died at Windsor Castle was kept exactly as it was when he died.
She swiftly commissioned artistes to capture his likeness in portraits and designers to incorporate his likeness in pieces of jewellery.
Prince Alberts childhood nurse gave the Queen this heart shaped crystal locket containing a lock of the Prince's hair in 1867.
This is currently on display at Kensington Palace.
It is very small, deep into a display box which is very dimly lit, but I think this photo does it justice.
