The Lozarithm Lens

Calne (Friday 30th December 2016)

As I wandered through the Castlefields nature reserve beside the old Wilts and Berks I noticed that, despite being in the middle of nowhere, some kind soul had thoughtfully decorated several of the trees with festive Coca Cola cans and empty bottles.

The Extra shows some ivy on top of Chaveywell Bridge.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Dusty Springfield - Little By Little (recorded 30 December 1965, London)
Dusty Springfield produced her own singles, uncredited, and got a funkier sound out of her backing musicians than most of her contemporaries, aided by her own touring band, the Echoes. She was very influenced by the Motown sound and indeed greatly helped to promote the Motown revue when they toured here, mainly by getting them on Ready Steady Go! and singing with Martha and the Vandellas. That Motown sound is quite evident on this single, recorded on this day 51 years ago.
