The Bugzilla Memorial Ride

In yesterday's blip, we shared the sad news of the passing of our friend Bugzilla.

We tried to think of some appropriate way to celebrate our friend, and finally we decided to do as the bikers do, and hold a memorial ride in honor of our friend.

We decorated our vehicles - iris rhizomes - with fancy flowers, and held a parade which passed through all of our friend's favorite places . . . the front flower bed, the tall green grasses, the table on the front porch where we staged our "Bugzilla" photo shoot and giggled ourselves silly in the morning sun.

Happy memories, all: these were the good times.

The parade route was lined with onlookers, who watched in respectful silence as the procession passed. The parade finally concluded at a newly dug rhizome bed in the back yard, where we said a few words and interred our friend's earthly remains: ashes to ashes, dust to dust; and from there to glory . . .

When the iris flowers bloom their luscious purples in the spring, we will smile and remember you.
