Scraped

I was out on the reserve all morning, making a start on the winter round of fixed-point photography. Many of the fixed points are south facing and I've learnt from previous years that it can be quite difficult to take the photographs when the sun is out because of its low position in the sky. So today's overcast conditions were reasonably good (apart from the persistent drizzle). This is part of a recently completed scrape - mechanical removal of the bracken and top layers of material - that should return to heather over the next few years so I've added it as a new (37th) fixed point for monitoring - and I made sure it was north facing.
