Christmasus ornamentalis

While virtually absent for most of the year, Christmasus ornamentalis is quite common in December and sometimes in the late November. It prefers to roost in conifers, but may be found in decorative arrangements, front halls, and similar environments. Living in Christmas trees, the Bird Ornament subsists mainly on a diet of popcorn garlands, candy canes, and the occasional chocolate Santa.

A holiday favorite, the Christmasus ornamentalis population is unlikely to decline anytime soon.

I've noticed several Bird Ornaments on the tree this past week. Being so sedentary, it has been quite easy to locate and study them. While their behavior is not the most interesting to observe, their ornate plumes and silky bodies are certainly pleasant to look at.
