Shropshire, you beaut.

It seems like we joined the rest of the UK in heading outdoors today. Great weather for a final day out before work starts tomorrow and where better to enjoy it than beautiful Shropshire.

Drove in the glorious sunshine through Church Stretton and the Long Mynd to meet mum and dad in the Clun Valley at Bury Ditches (glamorous). The hill fort gave us a good view of all of the great Shropshire Hills before we headed into forest for the rest of the walk. Then onto the lovely and quaint Bishop's Castle which, most importantly, is the home of the Three Tuns Brewery - my absolute favourite local beer. A quick pint, obviously, and then a wonder around the second hand bookshop (pictured above) and a couple of purchases to get the year's reading off to a flying start. Drove home through the Hope Valley with the late-dipping sun illuminating everything in golden light. A splendid end to the holiday. I think I fell in love with Shropshire. Again.

Off to Manchester tomorrow. Mixed feelings.
