Fossilised Sky

In the mid 1970s I spent my first year teaching at a North Lincolnshire primary school. Now, usually, teachers don't look forward to their turn on playground duty, but the geology and the children of this school made it a delight. Here's why: the playground was littered with these tiny star-shaped fossils that the sharp-eyed, small-fingered children loved seeking out. And their generosity meant that Miss soon had quite a collection of these minute fossils. The penny coin is there for scale - but if you'd like to think of it as a full moon, feel free. They're magical enough to make anything happen. Try making a blipwish as you look - who knows? - it might come true!
