Colors merge in the creases of the night.

Sun squints his crimson eye,
clinging to the edge of the earth.
And as scarlet smears a grey sky,
dusk dies awaiting dawn's rebirth.

Vermilion clouds float overhead,
hovering just above the ground.
And as the horizon bleeds red,
darkness descends without a sound.

Shadows flow down a slope of black,
as twilight succumbs to the dark.
And daylight slips into a crack,
abandoning a landscape stark.
