Dark Skies over Delft

Dark rain clouds over the former Plaspoel and Schaapweipolder pumping station might suggest that it needs to be brought back into business soon.

It's built to a design bij P.A. Korevaar in 1873 to pump the surplus of water in the lower pastures into the canal called 'the Delft Vliet'.

Since 1960 it's being used as a regular house, but the pump is still there and  - in case of emergency - can still be put Back into service right away.

Thanks for dropping in to my first 2017 post!
