Odd man out

The Rower made an executive decision this morning, and decided we would go for a drive down to Goolwa.  I wasn't about to argue.  One of my most favourite places in the whole wide world.

Half of the barrages were open, letting water out of the River Murray into the Coorong, which is fantastic.  It's getting a really good flush out, with all the water moving through.

The pelicans don't have to work very hard for their supper under these circumstances.  Lots and lots of fish just ready for the taking.  There were easily a thousand cormorants there as well.  It was quite a sight.

These three pelicans were obviously working the scene, and rounding up the fish - they would all dive together and come back up with beaks full of fish.  The cormorant was the opportunist.
