West of Watling Street 
A muddy ditch drains the wet wilds of Warwickshire 
Sliding secretly under ancient trackway Roman-clad in stone. 
Straddled one foot each side 
Camera low to the water 
OneRiver is born.

The Soar rises in Warwickshire, but only by 100 metres. It slips secretly under Watling Street and is not easy to find. This is as close as you can get to the source without becoming hedgehog pizza on the A5 or crossing the county border. While looking for this spot I bumped into a chap called Livingstone and asked him if he'd found the source but he said he was lost.
