A feathery find

This morning I went out with the U3A birdwatching group. We went to Queen's Head, going along the canal and to the nature reserve.

While walking along someone found these beautiful feathers, we weren't sure which bird they belonged to so I took a photo for research later. We then came across a pile of them so the feathers' owner had been predated.

We saw quite a few birds, long-tailed tits, a flock of siskin and a great spotted woodpecker (extra). We then came across a small group of red-legged partridge (extra), we immediately recognised the origin of the mystery feathers.
