Honest John

This statue in Centre Vale Park, Todmorden is of John Fielden MP.  He was instrumental in the passing of the 'Ten Hours Act' 1847 which reduced the permitted maximum hours of work for women and children to 10 hrs per day and 58 in any one week.
On this wet and rather blustery day, he was keeping his back to the wind.
