Iconic Kiwi

Sir Edmund Hillary is honoured with two statues in New Zealand.

This statue, the work of Chinese-born Kiwi Chen Wei-Ming, graces Hillary Square in Orewa.

The second statue is at the Hermitage, beneath Aoraki/Mt Cook where sir Edmund refined and honed his mountaineering craft before ascending Mt Everest.
