Pendeen Watch

Pendeen Watch is well worth the short detour down the narrow bumpy lane that leads to the headland. The views over to Levant with it's towering chimneys and crashing surf are impressive in all weathers. Up the coast stunning sea cliffs in a kaleidoscope of hues unfold in a concertina of quartz and blue stone. The epic drama of this immense seascape is both captivating and awe inspiring. The light house stands proud and just seems to fit perfectly into the scenery. I can't imagine Pendeen without this white clad sentinel, it's pristine green doors and great black fog horns have been drawing visitors for years. The final treat is the rural view sweeping back from the coast, dotted by occasional weather worn farmsteads with the hills and high moorlands of Penwith looking down from above.
