Lady's Slipper Orchid

After yesterday's rain L and I decided to have our walk today in the Botanic Gardens where we could seek shelter if the rains came but we were fortunate today ..... dull but  no rain.

Parts of the glasshouse are being refurbished so many areas were being replanted.  The orchid area has not been touched yet so the case with the rather murky glass was still in situ. The absence of sunlight made it easier to photograph this orchid in the glass case.  Not many other species in flower at the moment.
