Another rusty wharf...

I headed down to Baddeck to do a couple of errands and ended up having a couple of lovely visits with some locals!   First i had to pick up a cheque at the Victoria Creates Gallery.... a new place and they are doing so well.   Had a fabulous visit with a glass artist who has just moved from Ontario to Cape Breton.  She is originally from Finland and has been living in Toronto for the past 10 years or so.   We both talked about the very quiet magic of this place.....how we both immediately felt like we'd come home when we arrived on Cape Breton Island!   It is indeed a very warm and comfortable place to be.   Then into the Bean There for a bowl of soup.....found out they don't make soup on the weekends...bummer!   but found my friend Minga sitting at one of the tables so i joined her and we had a wonderful chat.   She's one of the poker playing gang and we were trying to come up with a pair to replace her wonderful parents who move down to Halifax for the winter!!!   She also made my day.....she literally gasped when i told her i would be turning 65 this year....she was sure i was in my mid 50s!!!!   woo hoo, i'll take that one for sure!!!

Then i drove down to Big Harbor, and investigated  the wonderful displays of rust and reflections!

Home again and we're apparently expecting quite the storm this evening and throughout the night....good job i got that extra bottle of wine!!!

the extra caught my eye.....boat covered in netting for the winter!  not sure why they use netting instead of a tarp!!!
