Plan B

A disappointing start to the day. Yesterday's cucumber was gnawed. The orchid stem was missing, presumably dragged away to decorate the little visitor's secret lair, but there was no hamster stuck in the sink - apparently it has learnt how to scramble up shiny surfaces since its last visit. 

Plan B! The water bottle is threaded onto a long straw so that it can roll like a tombola. The hamster will be lured up the stairway and try to reach the peanut butter smeared all over the bottle. But the bottle will roll and the hamster will lose its footing and tumble into the inescapable tall bucket. Thank you Google search! 

Animal rights activists please note that the bucket contains a soft towel and cucumber and hamster food (I'm all outta orchids). It will be a soft landing.
