Beavers!

The owner of Bamff Estate near Alyth released beavers on his land in 2002. It's on the Cateran Trail so we went to have a look. We didn't see any actual beavers, but plenty of evidence of their activities.
It's quite shocking the number of trees they take down.
On the other hand, what was once a drainage ditch is now a system of ponds, with trout, waterfowl, water voles and otters. That is what the landowner said, anyway, when we met him on the path. Apparently there are now three beaver families.
The extras are a couple of their dams.
