Winter trees and hooting owls

Last night I lay awake listening to an owl .... twit-twoo, twit-twoo it was calling. Living in Norfolk, it was likely to be a barn owl. Sadly their numbers are declining (by more than half since the 1930's) due mostly to loss of habitat.

How fortunate I am to live in the countryside; to listen to owls and appreciate magnificent winter trees in the landscape.

Living here enhances my wellbeing.
