Noises from the SW Front

We're official now!  We got Florida drivers' licenses and registered the Jeep here today.  It took 3 hours at the DMV which, by normal standards, is not excessively painful.  It also required a moderately large check for all the origination fees but what doesn't when dealing with the government.  On the home front, the lift people were here and made a start - they'll be here all week.  Mr Sparky was back too, to finish off their work.  A different bloke though who did the job well enough but is apparently a bit of a bolshie.  He asked the elevator guys if they had a permit from the building inspector.  Apparently that's a new regulation and they were caught short.  After their boss visited city hall and paid the fee, work could continue, although the inspector has added some requirements which are a pain in the butt.  The irony is that the electricians hadn't obtained a permit either and their work is done.  The city will charge them penalty fees for their insolence.  I called their office to express my displeasure - they hadn't heard from their guy so they were quite surprised to hear he had dropped them in it.  Sounds like this could be an opportunity for Karma to exert itself.
