Another Giant Sequoia in Denver

I had a tree meeting today at a local arboretum, after the meeting we went to see a giant sequoia that had been reported near lowel and 6th ave.  For Denver its rather impressive.  Hardly the landmark tree that fell in California over the week, but notable given the location.

The house also has a Florida dogwood (Cornus florida) in the yard.   Really rare for Denver, the only Florida dogwood I knew of for a long time was removed at a home in Englewood to make way for more blue grass.
I think one of the great joys of my life and job is being made aware of interesting plantings through the city of Denver.   Here's to homeowners who plant cool and different things.   The diversity you plant makes the urban forest more resilient and interestng.
