Wild Lions and Tigers

As I told yesterday, we were in for some serious nasty weather and that's what we got last night and today. We have two apprentices on board and they started smiling at six, but that didn't take long. There was sign on an old lifeboat which said; Wild Lions and Tigers are tamed here. And that is what happened with our young agressive trainee's. Tugs are feared for vicious rolling and pitching. You have to be an all weathered seaman to cope with the sickening motions. There were only six out of the 15 crewmembers who enjoyed their lunch today.

We have to make a rendez-vous with a tug and tow presently in the Bay of Biscay and on her way to the English Channel but she is delayed due to the weather. Therefore it was decided to proceed to the sheltered Bay of Douarnenez, drop anchor and wait. Now the Lions and Tigers are wild again.
We were not alone in the bay, this is the French Oceanographic research vessel A758 Beautemps-Beaupré. The late and warm sunlight gave her white hull a nice contrast with the clouds and the water, better in large of course.
