As the sun goes down

It has been a pleasant though cold day between heavy showers.  Snow is forecast for tonight.

Was shopping in the town centre in the morning, lunch with friends, and then a visit to an old country dancing friend, who at ninety one is now in a home for the elderly.

They have had a virus in the home for the last week and were not sure whether to let us visit, but decided that Morag was ok and as long as we were in her room it would be all right.  We found her a bit depressed as she has had no visitors for a week, but I think we were able to cheer her up.

I think that loneliness is the biggest problem at her time of life; her husband passed on last year and she has no children.  She is part of our church family and so gets some visitors from the church, but unfortunately the home is not in our town, and people without transport cannot get to it, which restricts the number of visitors.  It is a growing problem, I think.
