And so to Gaggio

The next day - La Befana (The Epiphany) - we drove to see a house we'd seen before on the other side of the Apennines from Florence. It was a Bank Holiday and we kept failing to find places to eat.

Gaggio at 650m alt was gelid. The big freeze had hit Italy and we were lucky to encounter so little snow.

The house was much nicer than I'd remembered. We later saw another and finally found a bar open in a little place called Montese where the old timers were playing Briscola - cards.

Then to friends and fine food and company as the cold night set in.
