Big Hill Mountain Biking

The area is fantastic for cycling, road and mountain biking. Mt Beauty to Falls Creek is 30km of uphill winding road, perfect for road cyclists to test themselves. Today, we hired three mountain bikes from the bike/ski/cricket/fishing/everything shop and explored the “Big Hill” trails – what a name.

The trails are made by the locals for the locals, but recently, they have begun to map and sign them as tourists wanted to explore as well. It took about 45mins to cycle to the top of all the runs, and from there we meandered downhill, picking and choosing trails quite randomly. The “Big Dippers” descended steeply down into a gulley, and straight up the other side like a ‘U’ – a little too challenging for us. But it was great fun nonetheless.
