Teaching

It's what I spent the day doing - and I was called Dr. ISPF this afternoon. This makes sense when you know that I was involved in teaching people about the wonders of ISPF - Interactive System Productivity Facility.

And yes, it is as exciting as it sounds.  And I'm pretty sure I channel both of these guys to help me get the information across.  I don't mean that I ended up setting fire to the building and getting my car sawn in half, more that I try to make it light and actually a bit of fun.

Laurel & Hardy are not known as Laurel & Hardy here in Germany.  Here they are known as Dick & Doof.  Dick you pronounce exactly as you would in English, but it means "Fat" in German.  Doof is a bit different - a double "oo" here is not pronounced like in loot, tool or wood, but it has a hard sound like in the names O'Hagan or O'Malley, and it means stupid.

I can't help feeling that Fat & Stupid is somewhat underselling the chaps here, whereas it describes me almost perfectly (in a parallel universe - not this one, where I am more accurately described as Plump & A Bit Slow).

One more day of teaching to go for this course.  I wonder if there's any sort of Shakespearean foreshadowing going on with Hurricane Egon bearing down on us?

I'm being very rubbish on the Blip commenting and replying at the moment - apologies for that.  Normal Service would be a good thing, but I'm all out of Normal at the minute.
