VOG

We have been coming to this island since 2000 and this time we heard the word "VOG" on the weather forecasts.  So, I looked it up and found:
  "Vog is a form of air pollution that results when sulfur dioxide and other gases and particles emitted by an erupting volcano react with oxygen and moisture in the presence of sunlight. The word is a portmanteau of the words "volcanic", "smog", and "fog"."
So, we are a very long distance from the volcanic eruptions on the island of Hawaii which is at the far end of the Hawaiian chain.  However, this picture shows Vog this morning, we have never seen it before.
