A Stormy Day and a Female Kestrel

Adz Here: What a day it was today, it started off looking like it was going to be a lovely sunny day, but as the day progressed the clouds started to hide the lovely deep blue sky and the heavens opened. And did they open, it was torrential rain and hail turning the roads into huge puddles and then into rivers.

Susie and I planned to go out for lunch somewhere, passing through Sawston and seeing where Susie grew up and went to school, we also passed a few other villages and towns around Cambridge, including Hinxton and Shelford where friends of Susie's lived.

After a while we found a pub in Cambridge that was by the river and that is where the rain really came down heavy. After the pub and a bit of shopping at the Beehive center we had to make a run to the car where we got soaked en-route to the car and then enjoyed a drive home in the torrential rain. Almost home, I noticed a stunningly bright and vivid rainbow that I had to get a picture of before it faded. Once captured we was about to head home when I noticed a female Kestrel which I managed to get a single shot of before it flew off.

So the collage I feel sums up the day very well from a calm sunny day with the impending storm, to the storm (Torrential rain, hail, thunder and lightening) and final to the end of the storm with a female Kestrel and vividly bright rainbow as an added bonus.
