A little ray of sunshine

Twin Peaks

There was much excitement at home this morning, being the little ones 8th birthday, so cards and present were opened, Happy Birthday sung and her favourite breakfast of scrambled eggs on toast with a dollop of HP sauce enjoyed. The extra present she got was a good sprinkling of snow, although not enough to build a snowman with,  it all looked very pretty.

After dropping the children off at school, it was time for me to enjoy the white stuff and the sunshine on our monthly WI walk. It was a bit of a slippery start down to the bottom of the valley, then a big climb up to the top of the hill to the trig point crunching through the snow as we went. Back down in the village we warmed ourselves with a big bowl of soup at a local café, and then had a nosey round the streets where they are currently filming Funny Cow, starring Maxine Peake.

Back home to defrost again (at least I had thick socks and walking boots on and not thin tights and big heels!). A chocolate cake baked whilst catching up with friends over a cuppa at mine, then back to school to collect the children plus a couple of friends of C's for a birthday play, tea and cake.
