Saturday Driving

This morning we drove the Summit Road hoping for photo opportunities but it was not to be.  There was low cloud over the Gibralta Rocks, the spot we wanted on the Port Hills.  My son in law/technical advisor who got me to buy a Fuji hasn't said anything about my shots lately so I interpret this as I'm doing okay.  This view is looking down into Lyttelton Harbour and the pink dot is the daughter.
We continued onto Mt Pleasant and my nephews house for a late lunch.  The drive back was through some of the red zone land where the houses have been removed and the empty land is being mowed.  It was poignant to still see the outlines of gardens.  The trees and shrubs remain and nature will take care of itself.
