Hierarchy

I wonder if someone was taking a picture of me while I was taking a photo of these two guys taking photos of the birds. The big occasion is this flock of egrets, nearly two dozen of them wading and frolicking in the shallow reflective water. They look kind of seagully from this distance, but trust me, they're egrets. I've rarely seen so many in one place. Certainly better images were to be had on the sand, but that would have entailed hiking down there, and anyway I didn't have a long enough lens on me to hang with those big boys.
