The Fishing Family

A glorious day, warm and a little windy - we went driving this afternoon, pootling around the back roads, ice cream in Geraldine then back to the coast namely the district of Seadown a rural area just north of Timaru and where I grew up on a crop and sheep farm. Had a good look at the old homestead - so many awesome memories flooded back.

We went to the beach, where my Dad and his mates used to fish for Kahawhia and a little further along where we all spent hours chasing the often illusive waitbait.
The beach today had lots of fishermen people, but it was this group that took my eye, particularly the mother..... I sneaked a photo of them.  I have lightened colours a little to give it a summery feel (we haven't had too many of them).  The water was a very dirty looking blue/teal then on the horizon it changed to that dark gorgeous blue.
Looks so much better against the black background.

A pleasant Sunday with no computer work (or not much)
