Zwartkop - black rose

This plant is Zwartkop - Aeonium arboreum. The flowers of black rose are actually rosettes of burgundy black leaves at the end of stalklike stems. This succulent contrasts superbly with the light background in the Open Garden we visited today. The garden was called ETRE and it was at Willunga. Got lots of great photos and video of this stunning place.

The garden was small in size at 630 square metres, but every inch is packed with plants and trees.  The way it has been achieved is quite inspirational. We then had a picnic lunch at the nearby Blueberry Patch at Mt. Compass. Just love my EM-1 Mark II. My Mark I was sold within 5 days of trading it in.
