Moravian Mission

A Sunday afternoon mission to the secluded Moravian Settlement in Fairfield, East Manchester. Not on the tourist map but a pleasant place to wander around some old buildings dating back to 1785. A scheduled place of historical interest and still inhabited; it felt a little like we were intruding. We finished the outing with a walk along the Ashton Canal and the Fairfield Canal Basin.

Plenty of subject material and worth another visit. It's an easy walk or cycle from Manchester Piccadilly station along the Ashton Canal path, passing the Man City Stadium and the Cycling Velodrome.
