Observation in Greenwich

Em and James set off home for Somerset with Tiger Lily after breakfast which gave us a day in London.
We spent most of it in the Maritime museum and the Royal Observatory in Greenwich. Greenwich really does deserve its UNESCO status and I took lots of pictures but a particular thrill was to see the John Harrison clocks/chronometers. This was the first attempt to solve the problem of longitude and it's a thing of real beauty.
If you haven't read Dava Sobel's book Longitude I can recommend it heartily.
Got home just after 10 tonight. A quiet day tomorrow!
