Sleeping Beauty

This is Sleeping Beauty made by Royal Doulton. Royal Doulton was founded in 1815 and throughout the 1900's it was a big employer in The Potteries. Demand for quality pottery declined and when I moved here in 1986 the writing was on the wall for Royal Doulton and many others.
There were various takeovers and it is now owned by a Finnish company.
