2017 So Far

Since the day after my last blip at the very end of December something has happened and everything has changed. The base of Mum's spine seems to have gone out of alignment and it has caused unbearable sciatic nerve pain and all but stopped her from being able to walk. Every move is excruciating for her. It's heartbreaking to see Mum in such agony. We've had a GP home, and took her to have an x-ray done in hospital yesterday. We will have to wait until the end of next week for the doctor to phone and discuss the results. She's on a fairly hefty dose of Tramadol, which just about takes the edge off the searing pain, but they make her like a zombie with drowsiness. I hope for Mum's sake that she'll be able to walk again, but if she doesn't it won't be for lack of trying on her part.

I nipped out to Tesco for some bits for dinner late this afternoon. The sinking sun on this crisp winter's day set the sky over Tiptree ablaze.
