Pleased to see...

One of the quotations on the Canongate wall of the Scottish Parliament is from Alan Jackson's poem "A young politician looks at the moon" which satirises the proprietorial feelings of constituency representatives.

However it is undoubtedly true that local members do feel proud of the many achievements and manifestations of "their" area and therefore I was delighted to see the steward on tonight's British Airways flight to London handing out shortbread made by a company from Tobermory on Mull which I know well.

It is great shortbread by the way - and the other Island Bakery products are well worth trying too !
